O.K., I am a figure and armor modeler but every once in a while I will go into the dark side and do a car model. This past weekend I went to the Honda grand prix of St. Petersburg here in Florida. I saw a lot of nice cars and it almost makes you want to build car models. ANYWAY, I saw this great looking car that I thought would be neat to build, but I don't know if anyone makes a model of it.
Does anyone make a Porsche RS Spider in model and or Die cast form??? I figure you guys would be the ones to ask.
Thanks

There might be some pricey 1/43 resin kits of this, but nothing in plastic. There are a bunch of die casts of the DHL (yellow and red) car on e-bay.

I really should look more closely to whom I'm posting. I didn't realize it was you, Jody, until after I sent my post along. Are you heading back up to NH this spring? The fall show circuit has dropped down to AMPS East, Granitecon, and Bayconbut I think the last two are after your return to the south.

Revell came out with the Audi R-10 last fall. let's hope sales were good and other cars are being considered.

The Porsche RS Spyder is available in diecast in scales 1/43 and 1/18 from Minichamps. Not sure if they are going to do the 'Van Merksteijn' one, which won the 1000 km of Barcelona in the LMP2 class ( and finished 7th overall).

The Audi R10 kit is nice, but it does require some work.. mostly sinkmarks and ejector-pin marks.

That's the one I just got...neat history about the car as well as good looks. Interesting that she's an open roadster as I'd figure it's be a coupe, but they were headed for real weight savings from what I read about the car. Not too many pics out there of it as I'd like of it.

Well, the Porsche RS Spyder of Van Merksteijn racing did win Le Mans convincingly in the LMP2 series, so perhaps it's what Revell or Hasegawa needs to create the kit.

As for pictures of the Audi R10:
