I've started work on the Tamiya 1/12th scale Yamaha YZR-M1 I purchased recently. So far I've begun priming pretty much everything apart from the fairings. The gloss black primer is for carbon fibre effect parts I've got planned (using an old pair of tights to help paint the effect) and the shinier Alclad 2 metallics that'll be applied. The grey primer is also Alclad stuff and is for the regular metallics plus the satin and flat blacks to come.

Everything has been built into sub-assemblies to aid painting and finishing. I'll also be doing an entirely out of the box build with no aftermarket parts. Should be very interesting in terms of having to do a consistent and clean paint job with lots of glossy surfaces. Not something I've done before but I should be ok. I've planned ahead a fair bit.
