Was at hobby lobby today with my daughter, laughing at the christmas stuff out already, when we strolled over to the marked down section for a cheap thing for her before I/we went to the model section. There buried behind some uninteresting models was my new next ratrod project, the lindberg 1/24 '37 custom ford convertible kit {#73063} for $11. Yeah, dad gets some cheap stuff too!
Now the research begins on what to do with it aside from ratrod wheels, drop it in the weeds, fill in most of the wrap around grill work and a better motor -
1- body with just primer
2- cut off the back behind the door and make a pick up out of it
3- cut off the back in front of the door and make it a woody, chopped of course
4- cut off all the fenders and hood sides, leave just the hood top and grill only with the body

Motor choices for me would be-
1- modified flathead
2- V10 flathead from a merc or lincoln{forgot what kit[s] had either of those}
3- Straight 8 ...the length would be really pushing it here!

Thoughts gentlemen...and any ladies that might be lurking.....

woody wagon
truck- no top for mine though
patina but in ragtop form for mine
ratrod slantback
-hope these work....seems they do for me. That last ratrod is ok but it doesn't easily capture the true unique look of the '37 ford due to the loss of the fenders. I'm liking the truck as an open top, the woody or the patina look roadster.

I like the woody idea. I have that amt 39 woody rod thought it might be a cool body also. On another note I will be spending some time in the next couple of weeks making some molds for the caddy from the 59 El Camino, straight 6 from the 48 chevy, flat head parts and a rat rod frame with a big step in the back and a suicide front end. A couple sets of tires. Any ideas
