This is Revell's 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner. I shaved the doorhandles and covered the hole for the air-grapper. The paint is just a base coat for an upcoming candy red paintjob, with a silver stripe on the Hood.
Wheels are Pegasus chrome T's 19" in the front and 23" in the back.

Forgot to mention the 23" Wheels were way to big for the Wheel wells, so I had to cut them and build new ones of styrene sheet. First time I had to do that and it was way easier then expected.

That's going to look good with a candy red finish.
I had to cut out the wheel arches on the rear of one of my 'Stangs. Easier than it sounds, especially as nobody gonna look underneath!

Bummer Had to strip of all paint. I decided to try Autoair colors.Lots of great colors to choose from. Silver base shot on ok, but the candy apple paint looked odd. Shot a test coat, which looked awfull. It didn't look anything like candy apple red.Pale an pinkish it looked.
Decided to keep the silver base and buy some Tamiya clear red. After two coats it looked awesome, but unfortunately after a few days the paint started to crackle. So now all parts painted in the Autoair silver base are being stripped of paint. Will buy Tamiya silver leaf for base and start all over.

Good to see this one back Jesper, looks like all the hard work on the body paint paid off. Bummer about the autoair colors creating a bunch of extra work for you.

After having not built anything in a few years, it was nice to check in and see your build Jesper. That paint looks flawless and looks almost wet in the photo.
Good to see you bringing her back to life. I have dug out an old Cuda' model that I'm planning to rebuild for the upcoming campaign.

Great work Jesper
The paint job looks superb. Silver base with clear red top coat? How many coats of red? Is the base acrylic?

Thanks Peter.
Indeed clear red over silver base. Both Tamiya spray paint. Next time however I will airbrush Tamiya acrylic silver, for base, since the clear coat can disolve the silver base coat.
3 coats of red i think.

Super result Jesper, I love it! I am going to use the Alclad Candy Red system on my '67 GTO, I hope it comes up as good as this colour. I have read some reviews online that said about 5 thin coats of red over the chrome base are required.
How did you do the chrome window trims? are they hand painted or foil?
Great to see this one finished after all of the early paint dramas, congrats mate.
Cheers, D

Thanks Damian.
All window trim is bmf.
A couple of the Alclad clear colors are on my shopping list. Ruby red and eletric blue.
The GTO will look awesome in candy red.
