Holy Cow, a 1/16th scale truck model??? Where are you to put if after you finish it? However it does look very detailed, I'll have to pass just because of the size..

Kind regards, Sven.

Ouch on the price! I was close!

Sven,
I wouldn't pass on this, It would just be a bigger version of the 1/25th Pete that I'm doing here.

Interesting that Revell is bringing this one back as they just reissues if a couple of years ago. It was a limited run, and the cab/sleeper was yellow.

If that's a 359, then why is the air cleaner on the driver's side and not on the pass. side like in the 1/25th scale offering?
Oil cooler is mounted on the driver's side on the 1/25th version, not the air cleaner. Hmmmmmm........ Unless that is a different model year?

I just noticed that.

Did a little digging. Turns out the single driver's side air cleaner is a post-1980 option. Don't really know how popular it was, though.

Thanks Jim.

One of the things that made me question this was the sleeper on the back. That's what I thought was odd about this kit.

If memory serves me correctly, the 359 was being phased out for the 379. The 359 shown here in this kit has the 63" sleeper on it which was put on in 1986. The 379 came on line in 1987 and ended production in 2006 when the 389 started it run.

Now the 1/25th scale kit has the 36" sleeper on it. Those were done in the 60's/70's by Mercury Sleeper. Pete didn't start doing sleepers in house until 1978.

Got love Wikipedia. LOL Had to double check my memory.
