A few pics of my Shelby Mustang GT 350R the R stands for race and this model was a lot different than the standard shelby Mustang you can see the dash has a second instrument pod in the center and the normal gauges were replaced with high performance units the standard engine had 306 HP the race model 350 to 360HP it had a low restriction air cleaner, exhaust and bigger carb the car was also several hundred pounds lighter, very fast car. All commnents welcome

Good start. I love how the dash came out. The steering wheel stands out nice. The motor looks good too and I'm assuming its an AMT kit?

Keeping an eye on 'er, lookin' forward to more.

The dash is fantastic, love the steering wheel.

Would the wiring go over the exhaust like it is or would it have routed forward along the exhaust connection then turned upward to the distributor?

Thanks guys for the comments i still need to add a few detail to the engine like a throttle shaft and return spring and maybe a set of wire looms, to anwswer Scotts question i believe the wires should go over the value covers like i have it but they would have had a set of wire looms to support the wires better so they would not touch the hot headers not such a big issue with a stock cast iron maifold that detail has yet to be added. Also Scott on the eraly Corvettes they ran the wires from the distributor in the back under the exhaust manifolds to keep them from touching so you are not far off on this point, at least this is what i have found in my research. Murph this is the Revell kit 1/24 scale i will be painting it dark blue with white stripes.

Hi,

Just wondering what gauge wire you were using and on what scale?

Tried doing this with a 1/24th and then the wire looks more like it should be rad hoses not spark plug wire.

I also have a question about how you attach the wires once you have the engine built, do you paint the engine first, which I thought would mess up with the glue, or do you get everything set and then paint?

Thanks.
