Well, I'm 99% done with "Bad Kitty", A horrible mold of an awesome car. I just couldn't bring myself to give 100% on this model. I took the pix with a newly aquired camera. (Thanks, Anonymous!!!).

Trying out a new photo-editing program too, so the pix might be rough.

My first try at two-tone paintjobs came out alright. I know what better to do next time. I did totally do a hack-job on the paint, but the partition line between red and black came out great. The only good picture to show this is the whole left side picture.
I had a good time with the 425cid Buick Nailhead engine, nevermind I only had green spark plug wires left in the spares box!

Oh well, it was still fun. I'll post some better engine pics tomorrow with shots of the scratchbuilt headers.

Comments welcome.

Thanks Joe!
I dunno what's next. I've got a 65 Catalina 2+2 sitting around and a 65 Riviera. A 69 Firebird. A 64 and a 69 GTO, sheesh so many. I just haven't been struck by one yet.
I do have another 70 GTO, but, it's the dirt track racer and I wanna wait for a race campaign to whip that one out.
I still have to finish a few too. I have a 65 El Camino for a friend on the bench waiting as well as the SB Guntruck. I have the SB rail armor that's about 10% into the build. There's some N Scale stuff I have to do. Plus I want to get working on an S Scale (1/64) train car for the Father-in-laws layout. So much work to do before summer arrives. Work season is almost here too, so I won't have 8 hours of build time a day to sniff glue and surf MG.
So, to sum up, I have no idea what's next.

The model looks good in these photos.
Is the colors your own or was it stock for this car? Or a real prototype custom later?
Are the plug wires coming out from the sides of the cap or is it just the photo?
lots of questions, I know.

No, nothing prototype. I use Krylon Semi-flat black and Satin Burgandy. The distributor is half-scratched out with tubing, sheet and some aftermarket wires that were bundled, but didn't have a distributor around it, just some aluminum and a post to attach to the engine. I had to whip something up and that's what I wound up with. Kind of HEI, but not.

Oh, and I decided on the 2+2. I like it better than the Riv, so I am gonna do a little better on it.
Thanks for looking,

Cuhail

Yeah, the gap....I had a bunch of fit-problems with this monkey. Just getting the undercarriage attached was like pulling teeth. I was just happy to get the pins that hold the body to the undercarriage to go in. They really didn't want to.
Meh, AMT. What can ya do?

Yeah Matt! I don't think I've seen any glossables by you. You'll have to remedy that.

That's totally true. There was a time before wild, fancy, ultra-gloss paint jobs where hot rods were dull. Do a rod, man! Merc out!

C'mon Matt, ya know ya want to!

You should see the gaps some Fujimi kits have.. especially their Renault Megane series and Nissan March/ Micras ... Horrible, and not what you expect in such expensive kits.

No Sir! I mean I almost like the challenge of the fit problems AMT is known for, but, when I can get them on eBay for practically pennies, I don't mind the gaps. But when high priced kits lack the quality, I find the pricetag reflects a company's integrity.

Ya know?

I'll be doing another thread soon on the AMT '65 Pontiac 2+2, and although I love the 421cid engine in the kit (Good base, needed LOTS of SBing bits and nudge) and the dasboard is awesome, I already threw aside the seats and what's up with the rearend molded into the floorpan/chassis? Good grief, that alone should bring any AMT kit price down to "Snap-Tite" price just to avoid slapping their customers with a glove! One step up from that is molded-in exhaust. I mean C'MON!?!

He he!
I still build AMT more than R-M though.
I'm a glutton for punishment.

I have an AMT '65 Ford Galaxie XL on my work bench. Black and white enterior, black body. I shaved of the doorhandles, the Ford markings and some of the chrometrim to make it a little more smooth. It's 90% done.
I ordered the Novus polishing system. As soon as I get it, I will start polishing the body and add BMF. Then it's done.
