A few pics of my 1969 Charger RT, well at least the engine an interior the engine in the pics shows as red it is orange. Now i just have to pick a color for the body maybe sublime green that should go well with the tan interior and maybe a black roof and bumble bee stripe. Let me know what you think.

Love the engine. The shifter looks a bit too rotated to the left?
I like the idea of green with a black roof - very '69. It would go well with the interior. I'm not so sure about the stripe though, might be a bit much.

Thanks Scott the shifter looked a bit off to me to but thats the way it came if any body out their is a Mopar man maybe they would know, i will have to do a little more research on it. The Bumble bee stripe would be in black and would be located behind both rear wheel wells and go over the trunk it was a common Dodge option i believe.

Looking good! I like the color plan you have. When I was a kid my dad was a car salesman and he sold a '69 Charger in that color scheme to a neighbor's teenage son (I was a kid in 1970! ) and I always loved that car. The last time I taked to him a couple of years back he still had it, and it was in cherry condition! I don't remember if it had the bumble bee stripe or not, but I do know what you're talking about and I think it looks good.

Thanks James thanks Mike, i think the color plan should work and really wanted to do a more colorful muscle car for a change i love those old muscle cars. Scott i did a little research on the shifter and that hard bend is correct i am surprised i thought i would have to redo it however the shifter knob is the wrong color it should be a dark wood color like walnut easy fix.

Great piece of work so far Robert.
Lots of great details on the engine. Is it just a reflection or have you added a wee bit of rust to the headers?
Love the look of the enterior as well. Clean sharp work.

As far as I can recall. Sublime green was not available in 1969, but it still is an awesome color for a Charger. '69 Charger+Sublime green+black vinyl roof+black bumle bee stripe=killer combo. Go for it

Thanks Jesper, on the headers i did add a light rust coat i wanted the engine to look as if it had been in use for a few months, used but not abused. Thanks for the info on the paint you may be wright i think i saw Sublime green on a 1970 Cuda i will have to do a little more research i will let you guys know. Thanks again.

Great interior and nice engine!
1969 Charger RT; isn't that the same model they used for the Dukes Of Hazzard?

They used '68 and '69 Chargers in the TV series.

Hey Robert. I found the 1969 colors, for the Charger, in one of my Mopar books. Sublime was not available before 1970. Even though sublime isn't an original 1969 color, it's still an excellent choice of color.

Colors available for the Charger in 1969 were:

Interior: Blue, green, red, tan, white, black, white/black.

Exterior: Silver metallic, light blue metallic, bright blue metallic, medium blue metallic, light green metallic, medium green metallic, bright green metallic, dark green metallic, bright turquoise metallic, bright red, red, light bronze metallic, copper metallic, dark bronze metallic, white, black, yellow, cream, gold metallic.

Vinyl roof colors:
Green, tan, white, black.

Bumble bee stripe colors: Black, red, white.

Source: Motorbooks international, Dodge and Plymouth muscle car red book.

Great start, love the carmel color interior. How did you make the wood grain console, paint or decal. I also like the Sublime Green. I also painted a Cuda in that color using Tamiya's light green X-15, it's pretty darn close. Here is a cartoon pic, though not a Charger it is somewhat close. Can't wait to see more progress photos.

Thanks Jesper it looks like it never came in that color, that web site is great i may order one of the light greens from that website still not shore, i am now working on the chassis to floor pan seams because the chassis will have body color overspray on it so it must match. Thanks Joe the console and steering wheel are both painted i use a very fine brush and some Testors brown enamel paint for the first coat than i use any Testors light brown Enamel ( you can mix your own for different Shades) in a fine streak like pattern, I go back an forth with these colors until i get the look i want, last a coat of flat or semigloss.
