Introduction
DER MASS:STAB Model Car Magazine, Herpa's bimonthly flagship publication, promotes their models as well as general modeling subjects. This is Issue 2, April 2019.
A great magazine for all those who love our car and truck models: read all about Herpa, our new releases, and other interesting articles about diorama building, the big originals, and lots of other related topics. A great source of information for all 1/87 scale fans.

News in the Model Market
DMS helps the modeling community by presenting new releases by other model auto makers.

Finally,, the magazine concludes with a variety of magazine and service companies.

Conclusion
That’s the content of this issue. DMS is a larger format magazine of quality semi-gloss paper containing excellent photography of stand-out modeling. Unfortunately, virtually all text in in German but then again, a picture is worth 1,000 words, after all.

DER MASS:STAB is a quality publication that informs and inspires modelers of the state of (mainly) 1/87-HO vehicular modeling, as well as advertises Herpa and others' products.

Modelers interested in the above should enjoy this magazine - especially if they speak German!
SUMMARY
Highs: Excellent variety of subjects presented with quality photography.
Lows: All text is in German.
Verdict: DER MASS:STAB is a quality publication that informs and inspires modelers of the state of (mainly) 1/87-HO vehicular modeling, as well as advertises Herpa and others' products.

I'm a professional pilot with a degree in art. My first model was an AMT semi dump truck. Then Monogram's Lunar Lander right after the lunar landing. Next, Revell's 1/32 Bf-109G...cried havoc and released the dogs of modeling! My interests--if built before 1900, or after 1955, then I proba...

There are some neat dioramas in there, you can see the effort that is put into these. This is a different world of modelling that I haven't seen much of. Thanks for sharing Fred. Cheers, D

Hi Damian, Quite right. 1/87 is more than just HO scale for model railroading. In Europe, 1/87 is a popular scale for automotive modelers. It is also a popular scale for military modeling. One can find 1/87 modeling - individual subjects as well as extensive dioramas - without a railroad subject in sight. It is amazing how detailed some of these modelers trick out their mini motor vehicles - extensive kitbashing/modifications, working lights, animated features, even using magnets to "drive" them around roadways. Amazing.
