BLACKLIGHT DESIGN
Blacklight Design is a new model company located in Saint Martin. One of the principle owners is our very own Gabriel Szeitz.

Web site site: www.bld-thega.com

They're specializing in high quality 3D printed Diorama accessories, figures, water slide custom decals (only a few Carbon Fiber sheets to date), and model kits that are mostly 1/24-1/25 Nascar stock cars. Kind of a strange race car subject, as Nascar is strictly a USA based racing series.

PRODUCT REVIEWS
I received for review a 1/24 scale Pilot figure, 1/24 scale jerry cans of various types, and 1/25 scale road cones.

The figure is labeled as a Generic Racing Pilot, it's unique in that it's a full face helmet with the visor in the down position, so I'm going to paint it as though it's a race car driver. This also eliminates the most difficult part of figure painting: the face. The figure measures 7.5 cm in height, and is well proportioned. I was impressed with the fact that it stands without the need for a base that it would be glued to. It's printed in a gray resin which has a slightly textured matt surface. Once primed which they highly recommend, should give you the perfect surface to have the look of fabric. Another issue that new figure painters have is painting realistic hands. They also solved this issue by sculpting gloves on both hands. The figure retails for $24, and is on sale for $19.

I received two different sets of 1/24 scale Gas cans. The 1st set of 4 gray 3D printed cans contain two different styles, which are all highly detailed, and perfectly printed. The 2nd set of two gas cans were printed with an Orange colored resin. One can actually has a pour spout, and retails for $5. I'm assuming that the other set retails for the same price as I couldn't find them on their site. All 6 cans have no casting issues. So just wash, then prime & paint.

Gabriel also enclosed in the package a 1/25 scale set of 3 pylon cones printed in the Orange resin. they're also of the highest quality 3D printing I've seen to date.

If you're interested in diorama accessories, then by all means checkout their web site, as it has a lot more unique items.
