Hello,

One more small kit of a former Eastern Germany truck - the IFA W-50 which was built between 1965 and 1990 in different versions.

The kit is coming from Balaton Modell from Hungary in scale 1/35, consisting of fine resin parts, photo etched parts and clear foil for the windows.

I started to put the cab together, consisting of several separate parts ...

Cheers

Hello,

one last update before I go to summer vacation for the next two weeks (then only summer, sun, beach, ocean, bike, drinks, food, ... )

Most of the kit's parts are glued together, it is ready for beginning the painting now ....

Hello,

sprayed some black primer on all the parts ... and decided to add some wiring to the chassis.
After that added some Tamiya Hull red and some chipping medium, before spraying the black color on the chassis and wheels ...

Same steps on the cargo bed ... but painting it in light grey ...

I had to filler and sand the chassis several time before painting it. I had some gaps and irregularities. Finally a light grey primer was sprayed on it, sanded a bit and Tamiya sky blue was sprayed on.
The cap will remain without bigger rust or other damages... only some washings and dirt ...

And all together ... Don't worry - it is not glued yet

Cheers

Hi, Micha!

I wish I see this kind of models by the mainstream manufacturers. Good job there! I like the choice of color for the cab.

Cheers!

Hello,

the cab is painted and sealed with a layer of clear coat, ready for weathering now.

The chassis also assembled, tires painted and wheels mounted (front wheels in steered position). Now also ready for the weathering.

There is a saying in Hungary: "IFA is the fastest, if there is one on the road everyone can only drive behind".

You do a nice work! I know the creators of this model personally and I am amazed how much their quality has improved lately.

Hello,

some little progress at the IFA. First I have finished the dumper and installed it on the frame of the truck. Some weathering followed.

Some cargo was added, namely the concrete mixer from Plus Model, painted and weathered, some painted wood and two plastic barrels ...

The cab received the outside mirrors, lamps and a single frame at the center of the front window, which is missing in the kit.

Now some further details followed on the cargo bay ... and some last touches ...

Cheers
Micha
