That's how they did the "carpeting" in my 1974 Pinto. I ran a vacuum cleaner over it, and it turned from blue to brown. I was quite surprised.

Didn't the real Pintos work that way too?

all,
haven't been on-site for quite some time now.
However just surfing around the site and noticed this campaign - so having a number of half-started/half-finished projects laying around this will be a good bit of motivation to hopefully finish a few.
I'll decide which project warrants finishing once I get home from the coast in a week's time.
Hope everyone's projects are going well

Was originally using the kit as a bit of an experiment in oil painting, but my new oil paints are garbage, so starting from scratch with a new interior colour scheme with acrylics.

Light at the end of the Aluminum tunnel. For now.
It looks better than last time I took a photo. The end caps for the chassis might be aluminum or might be red. I think they will stay aluminum.
The front of those pieces will be red.
Here is the cockpit with the floor, fire extinguisher, and front lower suspension arms dry-fitted in place. Some touch-up with aluminum still needs to be done, but it is looking better than before. The A lot of it won't be seen as the driver's seat will cover it.
I have also been painting the brake drums and rear suspension parts. And also filling ejector pin marks on the front and rear wings.

Hello Everyone.
I have a Garage Queen I want to finish. I Started this kit in 2016 with the intent of learning to use Bare Metal Foil. I got to a point and just started putting it off and then just letting it set. Now I want to finish it, so here is my start photo of my box of parts for a 1957 Chevy Street Rod. I Want to learn to use the Bare Metal Foil because I love the look of the 1950's cars and I have quite a few to do.. someday...

That clear red looks really nice, and the chrome has a nice deep sheen. What did you use for the chrome?

Damian: The chrome is AK-interactive, over Ak's gloss black base coat. Next time around I will try Tamiya gloss black, as base coat, to see if I can get an even better sheen. Ak's dries semi-gloss.

That's one of the pains I never thought about when I bought my kit. So many decals!
You seem to be handling them well!

Good job! I looked on my decal sheet and there aren't extras. Hopefully I won't screw up the big ones!

I'm almost ashamed to say that I don't have any shelf Queens as a fairly new car guy. Come to think of it, after 8 years of aircraft modeling I had two shelf Queens, neither one are still with me but rather ended up at the recycling center.
