I continued with my build last night. A good modeller friend of mine sent me some wicker baskets which I need as a load for my fladbed. They do look very similar as these baskets at the picture of the real truck. Only drawback was that the open baskets had something like breadloafs inside. I was forced to drill out these breadloafs in order to load firewood instead later.

Ok after the wicker baskets were dry I did cut some small rectangular block of wood in 45° degrees to get the typical appeareance of wood billets, planished them in an orderly way into the open wicker baskets and finally placed these baskets on top of the bigger closed baskets onto the fladbed accordingly to the picture of the real vehicle. Don´t ask for load securing - I didn´t recognized one at the original picture. The people have had bigger problems as that in these times.


The truck itself is therefore completed and looks like this way:








I am very satisfied with the model so far and I am also happy to reach the end of the build stage of it. No more broken parts to fix now . The left headlight broke off about 10 times or so...

Now there is just the acrylic display left to assemble which will be my work for this evening and fix the awaited metal plate which will arrive during this week punctually for the final handover next saturday evening

Thank you Joell, I also like the outcome. These were my first wicker baskets I did.

Last night I assembled the plexiglass cover for my truck. SORA make excellent and easy to assemble covers and I like to use them. This is the finished cover:


And this is how everything looks like inside






So in the end there is just the metal plate in front of the wooden display missing. I was promised to get it on thursday so tomorrow I will pick it up and finish this build. This is the draft of the advertise company who will make the plate. The inscripts on the plate means "1946 A new beginning with the Borgward 1000Z" and below "125 years and still full of energy". What do you think?

The plaque really turned out quite well. And the case looks like it could handle anything that comes it's way.

I did received the metal plaque yesterday and glued them on the socket.




Now my mission is almost complete - just the last act "handover" to do during the common dinner this evening. I will post pictures of it tomorrow morning.
