Well, the results are in and the people have spoken! Of the kits I managed to snag in London (Ontario, Canada) during the model show at the end of September, one has been quite overwhelmingly chosen as the “king of the losers”! The winner of this dubious title was the AMT BRAT, that awesome little bundle of tax-evading passenger un-safety!

The margin of victory was considerable, with 71 votes, the Brat managed 17. Sure, that’s only 24%, but in Canadian politics at least, that’s more than enough to win! Given that the BRAT is also one of my top purchases (since I stupidly passed one up years ago) I was more than willing to dive right in and get you guys an Out of Box report on this fairly rare little beast. So check it out below!

Adam,
What a great trip down memory lane for this old timer. Yep, I do remember the Brat. We thought it was the weirdest looking Trucks we'd ever seen. And to this day, that's so still true. Never sat in one, especially in the bed. Your feet were stretched out, so it didn't look to comfortable, and you were at the mercy of the weather Gods. Every car behind you must have been laughing their collective butts off.

Read through your review with that great history to set the mood. Very nicely done.

Looking forward to following your build. How are you planning on replacing those damaged decals

Hey Joel!

Glad you liked the article. The funny thing is, of course it's a weird truck. It's not really a truck at all. It's literally the Japanese version of an El Camino, but with 4WD and lawnchairs bolted to it!

Glad you liked the history. I always feel it's important to give some context where possible.

Someone on another board has a set they're going to send me, for the decals. I hope that comes through, because while they were an option, a Brat without them is like a T/A without the bird on the hood. It's legit, but I mean... c'mon...
