Hi all well I started this (my first big truck) I wanted to do it old and rusty so I used the salt method only to be informed the hood was fiberglass and the cab is aluminium, I've redone the bodywork so no rust but staining and sun bleaching (Still more to do but that will have to wait till I've made and added my decals)

Done some to the chassis (boy are they complicated) and started on the engine.

Nice start, Ken. The fiberglass hoods tended to fade pretty badly, too.

I don't know what color Revell of Germany calls out for the Cummins engine (they can get pretty creative), but from the factory that engine would be tan.

Looking good Ken!
I built this model in the latest Keep on trucking group build
Areas I had trouble with was the hood tilt, I ended glueing it closed.
They really missed the boat with the rotator boom!,I built my own hydraulic cylinders.
Great if you want to drive around with the boom up!

Hi all here's another update, loads more to do in the interior. I tried to get the steam from the hot cup of coffee on the windscreen (not particularly sucessfull but I tried) I feel I need to add a lot more rubbish in the cab I also need to dirty up the side windows as well, I'm getting there slowly.

Ken, very innovative approach with the steaming mug. In pictures isn't all that bad after all.

Cheers!

More work on the wrecker. Its a great kit but the instructions are really bad, soooooo confusing, moved those fuel tanks twice.

Hi all well I was given an idea for displaying this which I thought would be quite fun (and as you all know I like doing "out there" stuff) sooo, this was going to be a robot but I thought it lent itself better to this so I stripped it all down and will be using it for the dio, what's the dio going to be? Well I'm sure you will work it out.

And there's this little guy. I'm calling him ted.

Maybe I will give him a few warts or something.

Hi all another update, well this bit is never going to fit.

So with some heating and a little extension ted helped me fix it.

Hope the rest fits ok.

Is the wrecker driver waiting for the constabulary to arrive to breath test the "little" green man? Judging from the landing, he's had a couple!

Ken,
Just read through your build to date. Love the engine & running gear weathering as it sure does look like a lot of trucks I've seen. The boom is really starting to look like it's been used and somewhat abused, nicely weather too.

As for the diorama, it's looking good, and it's certainly original in concept.

Well the truck is nearly done, just a few odds and ends to add and the alien and trucker and his wife to do.
