Thanks all.

Going to be a bit before I can decide and work on anything. Heading out camping and Jeeping on Wednesday, need to work on the 1:1 scale Jeep before the trip.

I have a 1/35th HMMWV that I was converting to a brush fire truck that got shelved a long while ago. All that was left was decals, and items for the bed. I may go back on that. Would it qualify as a Garage Queen, LOL?

If it is a work in progress, and joining the Garage Queens Group Build will give you the motivation to get it completed, then I say go for it!

I would love to see it regardless, it sounds like a cool project.

Cheers, D

David,
I'm with D 100% on his decision. What's more the completed vehicle is for civilian use, not military use, so it certainly belongs here rather then in Armorama.

Is there a prototype for your conversion, as it seems like a really interesting project?

Thanks guys, I'll probably pull it out and see what is what with it and probably go for it.

There are real world HMMWVs that have been converted for brush truck use. I used those for inspiration, but the build is all mine. The decals I was making for it were for Brush 2 as a sister truck to this one.

The yellow lettering disappeared into the red background when I printed on clear film and I have only recently acquired some white decal paper to try again. I'm hoping I can get the reds to blend. if not, I'll try to fill in the letters with paint.

I'll start a new WIP thread after I get it out of storage and get a good look at it.

And, Joel, for you it is red again too.

That looks cool David, do you have any walkaround images? It would be great to see the pump/hose/reel setup and the other accessories.

Unfortunately, I don't. This was the only shot of it that I could find when I began looking to build one. All the others I came across were too "fancy" looking. When looking for that photo to link to, I did see one other shot of it from the right side front 3/4, but nothing from the rear.

There aren't a lot of modern 35th scale fire equipment (hose reels, etc.), so I will be scratch building that type of stuff.

Thanks again Jesper.

David,
Naturally, you'll get extra credit for painting it Glossy Red.
