Gabriel,
That's a great plan. I really don't need much of anything these days, but I'd sure love those citations, which I'd frame and hang right next to my Enduro Karting championship plaque.

Joel, our team is honored to have you along, regardless of the position you choose: contender, judge, overseer. I'm sure any citation won't be enough for the amount of experience and wisdom you'll bring in.

Gabriel,
The contest looks like another winner, and I'll be entering plus I'm willing to accept any function you'd like me to handle.

I tried to click on the facebook page link, but it doesn't work even though it's in Blue. I copied and pasted it into the site bar as well as Google, and the link is incorrect.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/2326538674274477 - did not match any documents.

Can you please fix the link so I can go to the group and sign up. I'm sure it's just a wrong number.

Joel, you're welcome to join us any time.
The KM is blocking the links (on good grounds - to prevent free unwanted publicity). I just tested the link: right click > open link in a new tab. It worked for me. If still doesn't work, I'll manually add your FB profile to the group.

Things are getting hot on TCC virtual circuit and the "teams" and "pilots" start gathering for the race. For now it's a lot of practice going around.

Updates - competition grows
Practically all concurrents from first edition bar one - the second female modeler - announced their intention to race again. Few of the previous spectators will take a seat in the cockpit and we have also a couple of "converts" that normally have another interests in modeling but cannot miss the thrill and decided to try their first cars.
At least two (three with me) competitors announced the preliminary intention to join the race with three models each (!). It may sound overly ambitious, but at least that's the declared intention.

Updates - competition grows
A new co-sponsor has joined us, so now we have a main sponsor and two co-sponsors. Here the successful conclusion of the first edition pays dividends. There is no gain for organizers, all extra funds and material prizes were allotted to the potential winners.

Updates - winners recap
Due temporarily adverse situation, virtual diplomas were emitted. The hard copies will be handed out with the prizes and the prizes / diplomas are to be shipped at the first opportunity - for now Bucharest it is pretty much in a locked down state and "nothing moves". However, here are the winners and their diplomas:

Updates - new evaluation criteria
I'm working hard to launching the new evaluation criteria before the Second Edition starts, so every contestant will know before how to calculate his chances. However, the task is difficult because the widening of scales has triggered a range of possible subjects and we have a lot of ground to be covered. So far, two sub-categories out of five were sketched and are pending approval from the President of the Jury.

Stay tuned - more to come!

...And the start is near!

Absolutely looking forward to this one with huge interest.
We're living very interesting times, and the new rules, the new score boards and the announced participation just make the things hotter than a F1 brake disk! On the Group's page were published already the new score boards and most important the Complexity Index was added to the formula, just to make the things even more exciting!

Joel, whatever you chose for the AM Campaign will fit the TCC Contest. No worries here.

Meanwhile, the match begun:

Already 3 entries were validated, with competitors jumping in with literally minutes after the midnight passed their time zone. I'm all ready to go myself, but I'm still fiddling with the Ferrari and I can wait a couple days.

Cheers!

First lap

Well, the world rotated once since the last post, and these are the results after the first lap:

That's already better than the previous edition. Lots of novelties here. I'm listing just a few:
+ Tamiya presence much stronger now
+ Only one 1/25th scale so far
+ We have three "rookies" and almost all the veterans are into the race.
+ The Ireland entered the list of participating nations. Still no US flag into the list.

More updates soon, three other entries are announced, mostly waiting for the kits to arrive or having technical issues with the entering the contest.

Second lap

Second lap here on TCC was a very exciting one. The number of entries almost doubled - and two more entries announced but not completed yet. Here are the stands:

Selective ongoing report

Alexandra has a very nice Tamiya Nissan on the bench and this time she looks determined to work as carefully as she can. Pretty neat work on the engine components and the body primed and polished.

Theo almost finished his Hot Wheels NASCAR. Some decals issues on the way, but sorted them out nicely, without too much loss.

Bogdan finished the engine and ran into some trouble with the wheels.

Francois did fantastic progress on his Chevy NASCAR #8 - still has to do decals and clear coat.

Luci assembled the body of his superb Nissan, primed it and base coat it - very nice metallic gold.

Almost all other participants have scored more or less progress, but three of the builds are nearly finished. How cool is that!

Cheers!

To be honest, I am surprised myself. The guys are really running like for the contest, although there is no prize for the first to finish the build. And yes, couple of builders opted for quality first - let's see what they're coming with.

Cheers!

Gabriel,
I'm ready to sign up with my Tamiya 1/20 scale Lotus Honda 99T.

If by some slim chance I do win a price, all I would want is the certificate. I would like to donate the actual prize to one of the female entrants of your choosing, as it's so rare to actually have a female modeler these days.

Certainly your entry will rise the standard and prestige of the competition and I can be no happier than having you onboard. I'm working right now the technical details.

Third lap

Time for a new update on the stands. First of all, three new entries were validated, all of them as second entries from already running contestants. The number of entries now it's 19, and one more was announced already. See the tables:

Third lap highlights

The building pace it's hard to believe, with no less than 6 entries almost crossing the finish line.

The quality of the performances is clearly improved in comparison with last edition.

Alexandra does an excellent job in painting her beautiful Nissan.

Francky it's a speed demon - he's building two NASCAR at once and he's almost finished both!

NASCAR models are dominating the competition so far, with 7 out of 19 running for podium. The other announced entry it's also a NASCAR! I don't want to be walking in juror's shoes for this edition! Not me!

Cheers!
Next update soon!

Gabriel,
I'm really impressed that there's already almost 6 completed entries. I guess that my Lotus Honda will have to keep all those Nascar "Boys" honest.

D,
I've been to the FB site twice but only lurked to this point. Will have to introduce myself and post a few opening pics. You think that with the mandatory stay at home, which I basically have done since retirement I'd been knocking out twice as many models, but since Feb I've been battling a head cold that just never goes away, and now I've added to my woes with damaging a toe and having the nail half rip off.

Still hanging in there, but it's been a real struggle of late.

Thanks for the endorsement, D.! For true this edition is lively and quality oriented.
... and I was typing this one, a new concurrent registered, from Germany this time! Well, it looks better by the day!

Joel, you are welcome to sneak around for as long you like
Yes, it will be nice if you make an introductory post, but we are less formal. The pictures speak volumes.

As for your health, I'm sad to hear it's deteriorating by the day. Just take care, please!

Gabriel,
I've been waiting till I actually got a little more done.

Just primed the body, both wings, and some smaller parts. Still need to wipe them down with Iso for a quick picture session, and then a rather long paint session. Today was out of the question as the weather has been horrendous. Heavy rain and winds up to nearly 70 miles per hour.

I need to open my modeling room's window so I can secure the vent from my spray booth via the window. But the wind and rain naturally is blowing straight at the window since 6am this morning with no let up any time soon. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Joel
