D,
Congrats on your 1st finished kit of the new year. She really looks just as I remember they did. Outside of Ford Mustangs, Cuda's/Challengers were my favorites as Gurney's AAR shops ran them in the SCCA Trans Am series.

Thanks Joel and Mark. I'm on a mission this year!

Some pics thismorning in the cool early sunlight. There are a few spots that could use a touch-up but I've got more important things to move on to (mainly Chevy).

Looking forward to following the progress on the other Garage Queens that are showing up here.

Cheers, D

That looks great in the natural light. The colour looks even better.
And a flying start to the year. If I finish 3 this year I will be surprised.
cheers

D,
super nice clean build for sure. And most of all, thanks for the memories. One just doesn't see to many built Cudas these days, and even fewer on the streets.

Joel, does this 'splain it better?

I managed to get the under coat, chrome, gloss coat, aluminum and another gloss coat on with out too much damage. The chrome did lift in some spots, but I think it's fixable. The clear coat did a little damage in a couple of spots, but that should sand out. Well, it still looks like a '57 Bel air.

Hey, I figured something out. I created a new flag for the signature bar. I think that this is the address: img src="https://gallery3.kitmaker.net/data/500/Garage_Queen_2020.gif" You might have to put arrows in front an behind to make it work.

Mark,
Nicely done.

Maybe we can kinda convince you to do the same for each of our GBs. Not only would it look great, but it's another identifier of the solidarity of each member.

LOL, I stole Damien's Garage Queens 2019 banner, copied it over into MS Paint, smashed around a bit till I figured out the font, erased the 2019 Garage Queens, replace ti with the 2020 text and went through a bunch of hoops to save it on the Kitmaker gallery and viola there it was.

BTW have you seen the one he did for the next GB?

Thanks Mark. They are a bit of fun and a nice way to promote what is going on in our little world!

Everybody is very welcome to use it as is, or do what Mark did and put your own spin on it. As Mark said, MS Paint is the easiest I have found to play around with these banners.

D,
I'm going to use it. Just have to remember how to actually add it as it's been ages that I had one.

Hi Joel.

Go to "settings" (top right corner), then to "modify profile" and paste the following link into the "URL for Signature Image" box.

You might not have noticed, but I had one for the Blue Oval as well -

If you want to use that one for the remaining month of the Group Build, use this link instead

A quiet moment at work, having a coffee and browsing the Auto threads. Time to bump this one up the list and see if we can drag in some more contenders!

Another month on and everybody is too busy with their Race builds and must have forgotten about their Garage Queens!

Spread the love folks, get those older half-baked builds out and git 'er done!

Well, I'll throw my hat in the ring!

I started this Revell of Germany Kenworth W900 back in December 2010, and it's been through a lot of trials & tribulations since then.

Somewhere along the line, something leaked onto the model, and left dirty spots all over the cab, hood, & sleeper. Whatever it was, it also ate through the clear coat in some spots, too. It doesn't show up on camera, but it's quite noticeable in person.

Here is were I am after a little elbow grease & glue:

Hopefully I'll finish this up for its 10-year anniversary!

Thanks, Joel. Hopefully it won't take too much to get it from the Shelf of Shame to, well maybe not the Shelf of Fame; but at least the display shelf.
