Thanks, Gabriel. I'm thinking maybe another coat of the yellow, then a clear. Then it's off to the trim & finishing it up.

Honestly, wanting a second coat of yellow at this point is looking for trouble (unless you have some hidden defects). Light colors are difficult to apply and you just did a beautiful job! But if you're confident - go ahead! I'm waiting the final result with interest

Looking very nice Jim. Like Gabriel said, if you have some visible thin spots or touch-ups that need covering, go for it. Otherwise, that Yellow coat looks good.

Jim,
I'm also curious as to why you're thinking about another color coat after these coats have dried and cured?
Your present color coats need to be treated almost like you would with primer, as the new top color coat won't be any better then the base color base coats. Believe, I learned that lesson the hard way on more then a few occasions.

It's not that it needs an entire new topcoat. There are some places where the paint didn't get. I'm not actually sure if it will be worth it to try to hit those little areas at the risk of messing up the rest of the model though.

I painted my Honda RA272, in Tamiya racing white laquer paint. Some areas was in need of some light sanding and touch up. Had No problems what so ever, with that.
Just go light, if you do want to give it another coat.

Jim,
All I can say is if it bothers you, then go for it. But just give the color coat a very lite wet sanding that will correctly prep it for another coat of Yellow.
My fear of just spot painting is that you'll create an uneven coat, that might have a shadow look to certain areas at certain angles.

Jim, you should be pleased with your result! I like it. The yellow paint turned out nice after all. also some details as half full radiator bottle and nicely picked up battery terminals add alot to the picture. Well done job, Congratulations!
So: what's next?
Cheers!

You should be pleased Jim, that looks very nice! Also great to hear that you didn't find any big problems during the build, good info to keep stored away!
Looking forward to your next adventure, what do you have lined up in the queue?
Cheers, D
EDIT: If you haven't already disposed of it, can you post a picture of the box so we know which specific kit this is?

Thanks, guys. I appreciate it. It really was a fun build. I found it quite relaxing.
Gabriel, I think the half-full radiator bottle is just a shadow. Does look cool in the pic, though!
D, the next adventure is the Revell 1957 Ford Sedan Gasser for the Strip, Track & Trail Group Build, and the AMT Plymouth Valiant Scamp Short Track race car.
Here is a photo of the box for the Nova:
I cut off the manufacturer in the photo, but it's a Revell kit, and it's still available. Here is the Webpage on Revell's Website:

Thanks Jim. I always like to be able to relate a build to a specific boxing of a kit.

None of my local stores have that '69 kit so I will have to swim the ether, but at least the box top shows me what I need to look for. Thanks for doing that.

Came out great Jim.
I had a 71 with a 307. That was the vehicle that I said never again to the bowtie. LOL

Jim,
Outstanding build and finish. Impressive in every modeling respect including nailing that Yellow paint color
I'm looking to your next builds in our next GB.

Thanks, Joel. The yellow isn't perfect, but I like the results. I am looking forward to building the Gasser for the next GB if the Scamp doesn't kill me first!
