German Auto - German Beauties Group Build Report by Brian Kuehn (Hunter Cottage), 2013-08-04 Handen, Sweden

A salute to German technology, innovation and design
I am sure that most people have either owned, seen or wanted a German Beauty. An avid Audi fan myself (I own two), there are a few Beemers and Porsches that I have direly wanted to own. Thanks to modeling I can have a whole slew of them! That is what this Group Build was all about - nothing more, nothing less. Honoring a country that has influenced automobile history on many levels, shapes and forms.
The Group Build
17 souls signed up to join in on the fun. 9 finished giving them a nifty ribbon and 2 finished just late of the due date putting them in the category for a Honorable Mention. All in all 15 models were completed.

Ribbon Winners and their ride:
  • Darrell Bedford: BMW 507 Cabrio
  • Dave Cox: Mercedes Benz C111, BMW Isetta and Messerschmitt KR200, BMW 328
  • Faust: BMW 320 Staffcar
  • Hakan: Trabant
  • Javier: BMW 327
  • Sascha Mcknight: Opel Admiral Saloon
  • Sal: German Staff Car Type 170V Cabriolet B
  • Sean Hadfield: VW Beetle
  • Steph: German Staff Car “Admiral Cabriolet”
Honorable Mention:
Brian Kuehn: Porsche 911 GT2
Jessie Cooper: BMW Isetta and Messerschmitt KR200. Jessica had made significant progress and would have finished in time when misfortune struck. She had a pending move to complete so she didn’t get the time to finish these difficult, to say the least, models. So I have put her here to give credit where credit is due.

Started:
Dave: 1956 VW Beetle
Erik Gorissen: VW Karmann Ghia
James Bella: Trilux AMG Mercedes “Ralf Schumacher”
Stephen: BMW 635 CSi “Jägermeister”
Conclusion
I enjoyed seeing all of this beauty take form. Also thought it was fun to see “Military” German Beauties join in on the fun. Will we do this again? I hope so!! Until then Tschüs!!
