Hey guys I am going to do my first rusty car with a base and all. And i was wondering how to weather the engine. And if you have anymore tips I would love them

Hey Tim,
Well it depends how long the car sits. Now what I’m about to say is worst case, engine block is greasy and grimy, mostly around oil pan, heads and valve covers. Any aluminum would look chalky white. Exhaust manifold and tubes would be flaky and rusted. Then a med. To heavy coat of dust. Also you can add in some leaves using Parsley flakes fro the kitchen. I just did a google search image typing “dirty engine” and found some pics. Type in other works and see what comes up. Um…also the longer the car sits the deeper it settles into the ground.

Joe's Spot on....... the headers are usually the worst (rusty) part as they're the thinnest part to see alot of heat.

My buddy's ' 71 Chevy Chevelle is parked outside right now. It sit there since 2003. I finally started it last weekend. I can take pictures of the engine and exhast if you want to see.
