So I'm working on a Revell kit, would ya believe that? The kit is the 68 GTO Street Machine...which is pretty much the same model as the 69 Judge but with some extra chromies and different decals.

The color of the body is going to be different for sure. It's an ugly Krylon called "Tidepool". I call it mint. Here's a chip.

Ugly huh?

So, I figured a nice mint with a pearl clearcoat. It just may work. I figured with a mint outside, a nice chocolate center would be in order. So, my very plain interior.

The undercarriage got a lift with junkbox springs and parts box truck tires in the rear.

So, the 400 you ask? What's that turning out like? Well, let's see.

Yes, I made the headers. Third time's the charm, right? The other two pair of headers went into the "exhaust" bin with all the stock manifolds and other headers I bent and couldn't use. Trial and error makes practice perfect.

Hopefully I'll have some better body pics soon. I took a couple, but, (snicker) they don't do the color justice.

More later, comments welcome, as usual.

Okay, I did a quick dryfit since I'm not going to rub out the paint til tomorrow. I took some pictures quick.

You still can't really get an idea of just how ugly this paint is. I have high hopes on it being quite the individual. Ha ha!

Don't be bashful!

Hi Murphy!

That's a....uhm... different colour for sure!
But I'm sure you make this a beauty in the end!
Are there gonna be decals on it or do you leave it plain?

"Ugly paint"...I had two early 70's GM's in the light ivy green{pea green}{71' vega/70' catalina wagon} and a 70' cougar in code G medium avacado green. Not as bad as ma mopar's "spanish moss green" though.......I did however see an early 70's duster in St Charles a year ago...panther pink with the white paisley top and interior option...mixed reviews on that rare one.

Ya slay me, Brotha! Thanks!

As for decals? I don't think so, but, you never know. I don't usually go with decals on many of my models.

Thanks for looking!

So I buffed out the paint with rubbing compound and rubbed through to the primer in a few places so, it's back to paint again for a coat or two more. I also have to re-cut the hood hole to go over the stacks I put on. Just some trimming to allow it to close.
It drives me nuts, I tell's ya. If I wait on the paint job until everything is assembled, it takes weeks to finish the model. If I start with the paint job, it never fails I'll have to modify the body to make it all fit.

Grrrrr!

The interior looks awsome. When I first saw the color on the body i thought you were just taking a pic of the plain whit body.

I think they call that Murphys law OK I know !..Hmm must be why my wife calls me hey smart @$$...anyways...interior and motor look great, and you'll have the distinction of having the only GOAT painted "Tidepool". If I could offer one critique, your interior appears a bit glossy although it may just be the pic.
