Certainly is a rather larger and long vehicle.
What was it transporting?

Thanks, interesting machinery.

Yesterday I visited the new power-plant being built where I work, amazingly everything is about half the size of the present plant. The nice part is the major stop valves are all motorized butterfly valves. Sure will beat having to manually open 8 and 12 inch gate valves. (wasn't allowed to take any photos for security reasons.... LOL) Also a gas/oil fired plant.... firesides will now be a snap!

Of course learning a new plant will curtail some modeling activities for a while.

That sure is a big load. That sure must be a sught heading down the Throughway!

Here are some BIG loads from South Africa. Check out Pics 1, 2, 5, & 6
http://public.fotki.com/irltrucks/mtdc/2007/10/week1/

If i'm not mistaken, the red trucks are Pacific P12W3 6X6 Trucks powered by Cummins VTA28 600 and 800HP V-12 Engines, they have a ballasted operating weight of 42,000KG/92,594LB. Thyy're hauling a Cometto 500T capacity trailer, with 4 power units, it has a gross train weight of almost 1,000 Metric Tons.
The Pacifics are being phased out for thise bigger white ones which are Nicolas "Tractomas" 10X10 Prime Movers powered by CAT 3412 1,000HP V-12 Engines, that have a ballasted operating weight of 71 Metric Tons/ 156,528Lbs

And then there's this one:

Wow, those certainly are big ones too.
