Hi All.
While taking abreak from my latest project I came across the Pimp A Ride Campaign.
Im an Aeroscaler but visit other parts of the network regularly.
I was wondering if my latest build could be considered eligable for your campaign?
It doesnt specifically exclude aircraft, but it doesnt specifically include them either,
Anyway,,heres a photo of the real thing.

Its at the painting stage now.
Whats the verdict?

I'd say, even with a rather conservative mindset while reading the rules, that it's Okee Dokee.

Nige,

Interesting paint on the birdy. What's the history behind that? And is that the Mono/Rev kit?

And, I'd have to agree with Mike, nothing in the rules of "Pimp My Ride" forbade wingie-thingies.....

Hi Mike.
The "Spotted Cow" as she was known was a war weary B17 that was used as an assembly ship by the 384BG based at Grafton Underwood in Northamptonshire.
Assembly ships were used to allow a particular Bomb Groups planes to get into formation as quickly as possible and indeed into the correct Bomb Group formation.
The skies at that time were very crowded as Im sure you can imagine.
Assembly ships (B17's and B24's) were painted in many wild and wacky paint schemes, usually involving dots stripes or zig zags and bright colours.
The kit is the Academy kit and goes together very well. Decals being Academy are horrible, but all the markings have been painted on using Miracle Masks.
The Revell B17F is the kit I had originally bought for the project and is truely horrible. Avoid at all costs.
Thanks for allowing me to join in with the campaign guys.
