Here we go with my unusual entry for Pimp A Ride.
Finished photos with the real thing in the B+W photo behind.

Is there a campaign gallery that I need to upload to?

Never seen something like that!
Can you tell some more about it's history?

Nice job on this one. I had no idea that a paint scheme like this was actually authentic. A good renditon on your part of an unusual subject. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, nice one!

Is that a "funny"? One of those strange painted planes which helped bomber squadrons to get into formation and then returned to mainland?

Hi guys.
These planes were war weary aircraft used as "Assembly Ships". Individual bomb groups had their own aircraft, normally the B-24 Liberator groups, and these were painted in bright colours and unusual patterns.
They took off first and then fired flares or flashed lights to enable the bomb groups aircraft to formate quickly and safely before they headed off towards their target. The assembly ship would then land.
This particular aircraft was known as the Spotted Cow and was the assembly ship of the 384th BG based at Grafton Underwood in Northamptonshire UK.
