Today during a finial qualifying run Scott Kalitta, 46 died due to multiple injuries after crashing his Funny Car in Englishtown, NJ.

I just learned this while watching the qualifying runs on ESPN this afternoon. I become deeply sadden after hearing the news from the track announcers after the AP News reported that Scott succumbed to his injuries.

Scott Kalitta was the son of Connie Kalitta who once was married to Shirley Muldowney. It was Connie who helped kick of Muldowney career as his son’s. Scott died at the very same track (26 years ago) where he debuted his NHRA career in his Funny Car

My sympathy go to his Family, Friends and his Fans.
