What is the best way to simulate an asphalt road surface in 1/25 scale? I'd like to make a base to display & photograph my truck models on. How about concrete for sidewalks or concrete roadways?
Thanks,
Jim

There are a couple of options.
1. use sandpaper at a low enough grit to simulate the road. Cut a strip and blend it into the roadway by adding some 'curbs' or ground edge. Give it an overall paint job and then [aint road markings on it.
2. Use textured rattle can paint in small enough grains that it would simulate it. I've never used this so I can't say which is best.
3. sprinkle fine sand over a bed of white glue/water mix.
4. Think about how rough it really would look in that scale and go with a good coat of correct paint on a floor tile or household spackle laid road bed.

Friend of mine combined used, dried, coffee grounds and white glue. I beleive it even cracked a little after drying.
Just an idea.

Coffee grounds? Well, there's an interesting idea. Never thought of that one.
Thanks for the ideas, guys.

I sprinkled fine sand over diluted white glue. Drybrushed matt black for skid marks.
