I have just started on my first truck build the AMT repop of the Mack DM 600. I stripped off most of the chrome from the engine parts as don't think they were that shiny i think the engine should be painted gold and thats about all the info i have on it, if any body has any pics of the engine or sites i can check that would be great.

Robert,
Well I'll try this again - for some reason the links didn't work :

Hopefully this works.

Not sure whats happening there - seems that this system won't allow subfolder links.
Anyways the more useful of the links will be the Public.Fotki one, just head for the homepage then troll down and find the Trucks Brochures subfolder and hunt down the Mack folder, this has a number of the original DM600 brochures.

Roger.

This is a great site, full of information. They have some DM brochures and construction brochures.

Any information in particular you wanted? Also, while the former MPC, now AMT/Ertl kit is a really nice and well detailed kit, one major quirk is that the rear tandems are too wide. Most guys tend to adjust the width of the rear axles to bring the wheels closer to the frame and look better. Nothing major, but it helps.

...yeah they are!{wide}, took at least 1/8" off each side of the axles to get the wheels to fit inside of the pete wrecker's body and it's still tight!

Thanks for the link Mack, i am looking for any pics on the engine and interior i just want to do some basic detail work. I tryed the link and i am having trouble loading it i will keep trying. I did find a few picks of an old army truck i think from the 70's that was a little help. I will start a build and post it in a few days.
