Hi there.
Twelve years ago I bought the 50th. anniversary kit Li'l Coffin from Monogram.
Now I dicided it's time to build it.
I'm going to try to make it a build log.
The only thing I already know, it's a real hard to read and follow instruction sheet.

Erikssson.

For those that don't know the kit.

P.S. And if I make some writing errors, he I'm from Belgium and normally speak Dutch.

And here are some pics of the instructionsheet.
I've seen beter.
And what the bodycolor is. They don't mention it.

See you

Now that’s a kit I totally forgot all about…I too built one some 30 + years ago. It’s nice to see the old instructions…how about some pics of the kit contents. Keep us posted on this build.

Good Luck,
Joe

Built a few in my young hairy days.
If I recall correctly, the body parts were molded in a deep Burgundy color.

You're right.
Just get rid of flash and other markings and then give it a clear coat of varnish.
These days we paint it.
First I got to find a perfect Burgundy Red (I hope tomorrow on a meeting) because the chassis is the first thing to build in bodycolor.

Erikssson.

@ Joe; kit contents follow.

This might help you with the color question. It's an interesting story to boot.

Guess a few of us have been doing this plastic stuff a really long time. I think my brother's godparents (aunt and uncle) gave me that for Christmas back around 1960.

Hi Al.

That's possible that you got it begin 60's. The first release was 1964.

On a special request.
Some pics of the kit content.

This weekend on a meeting been searching for Burgundy Red. Didn't find it. So the building is already struggling with a delay.
Or I must look for the original color, Apple Red 87-H Maroon Du Pont lacquer toner over a yellow based. It seems Candy Apple Red also will do.

Hi there.

Sometime I see pictures from Li'l Coffin with a black chassis, others are with a chassis in bodycolor. What is right? Who can help me.
So I start building the kit with the motor. I build OOTB so no scratchbuilding or extra detailing.
Just some washes to detail the lettering on the valve covers.
Hope you like it so far. The fuellines are still missing.

Erikssson.

Hi guy's.
I'm still working on this project, but I've also entered a campaign on another forum.
So actually I'm building two cars at the same time.
There is a little progress on this one, but I'll enter some more pic's when I've finished the complete engine.
The fuel lines are placed, I used some flat cable also known as IDE cable for PC's.
And that worked real fine.

Erikssson.
