I found this one on on ebay about five years ago along with several other Pontiac's and thought it was time to give it an overhaul i was missing the boot stock hubcaps and tail lights witch i got from the Modelhaus this will be a full rebuild. My next post will be of the model taken apart and parts stripped down to bare plastic so i can repaint and rechrome everything that needs it. This should be an interesting build for all the Pontiac fans out there if it goes well i will do others. If anybody has any web pages with picks or any reference material that would be a big help, all comments welcome.

Wow! I haven't seen one of those in ages. That's quite a score on a very rare kit, Robert.

It's great that the Modelhaus is repopping the parts you need for refurbishing old buildups like these. I'll be interested in seeing how this one turns out.

Interesting project. I have contemplated doing the same to some of my old builds. Will see how this one goes, before attempting it myself

Thanks guys i am now stripping the paint and it's not coming off easy even with several applications of oven cleaner at least i am now down to the plastic on about half the car. There is some damage to the front inner wheel wells they cut the tops off to lower front end and the window has some glue marks the wheel wells i can fix but i will have to try and get another window, the rest of the body has little damage and the chassis looks pretty good to.
The engine is all there but i will close up the hole for the front axle that goes through engine block and i will wire the engine if this model were in mint condition i would not touch it but i think it is a good candidate for a rebuild and a little extra detail work.

My first update on the Tempest, i stripped the body hood and all the chrome now it just needs some light sanding in a few spots than a coat of primer, the wheel on the left is the old one the one on the right is the new stock replacement, i also stripped and repainted the engine and added fuel line and plug wires, so far i am pleased with my progress.
Next up the interior and chassis.

Coming along nicely, Robert. Is the convertible boot a repop from the Modelhaus?

Any idea on what the final color will be, Robert? The model looked pretty good in the original color (maroon?), but I can imagine it would look great wearing just about anything.

Yes Yoni i know the color it will be Candy Apple Red over a silver base coat by Kustom Kolor from the makers of House of Kolor, i have never used their paint before so this will be a first for me, and of coarse a clear top coat. I really hope this paint works out.
