Here is a update on my 36 Ford Rat Rod.It is going to be a out of the box build and is ready for painting and weathering. I won't do any work until the weekend I hope for a lot of progress then.

Nice work Sheldon, in primer already you work fast, should be interesting to see it weathered.

It's been a while since I've seen a fenderless '36! The mockup looks good so far, and I'm curious to see what you'll do with the front end. Stock grille and shell, or perhaps something different?

Well I put a little time in today on the 36, some painting and mocking up. I have not desided on the body color yet. I painted the hood also but I am not sure if I am going to use it. I will use the stock grill. So it is on to the inside and fill the rear wheel wells.
On another matter I opened up the Revell 32 sedan today and it is a great kit. Not only is there a new body but wire wheels and ladyen flat head. Check it out.

Nice work Sheldon the wheels and tires look great and the detail painting you did on the engine really make it stand out.

My 36 Ford Rat Rod is complete. I am very happy about the finished result. The build was out of the box except for the wheels, tires and steering wheel from a 40 Ford. For the paint job I used hair spray over the basecoat and then water base red for topcoat. A little hot water with a tooth brush and that was it.
I had fun with this build so lets do something else soon. All the other builds were awsome also, I enjoyed watching the progress of them all.

Outstanding work Sheldon the finished rat rod looks great, you used the same method on the paint work as i did hair spray it really is easy to do. I am glad you had a good time with the build, i am already thinking of a new one.

Nice effect on the paint job...so what does the hair spray do...wrinkle the top coat?
Nice build...looks kinda neat sans fenders-

Bob the hair spray is a barrier between the base and top coat so it is easyer to get the topcoat to come off.

I like it a lot Sheldon. I have never heard of using hairspray but it looks like it worked really well on your rat rod. Even the wheels and tires are dirty. It all turned out really cool.
