I don't thin Revell kit's will ever just fall together
...oh they fall together easy enough, one you fix the miss fits and warpage!
Nigel, nice so far, but when time comes for the body color, I'll guess the "union jack"{your country's flag name?!} will fly atop her, instead of the plain white top?
...Rule, Britannia.....sing along if ya know the words!..........
-I say I have two kids- one son & one daughter...my wife says she has three- one son ,one daughter and one husband.
...and don't tell yourself you can't do it....it'll just take longer then

I have no idea what colour its eventually going to wear.
The Mini website is certainly giving me some ideas, and I have been known to play with masking tape once in a while
Rule Brittania?,,,find me a Brit who actually knows the words to a verse,, Its the same with the second verse of the National Anthem lol.

Unpatriotic slob, you can't even spell Britannia right
.
Rule Britannia
"When Britain first at Heaven's command arose from out the azure main.
This was the charter of the land, and guardian angels sang this strain;
Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves.
Britons never will be slaves."

...that's bad...too funny!
Hey nigel, you could also fly "englands" actual flag too...actually that'd be funny, paint the old school flag{white/red crosses} on the new school car....ironic twist?! If it's any consulation, I've had the song{musical score because I too don't know the words past the 1st "3" words...sorry} stuck in my head all day. Catchy tune though.......probably cause I'm part english.{never was told which part!.....}
The car is lookin good so far, keep up the fine work.

Nigel, I am getting withdrawls for the next installment! Can't wait to see what you've picked for the color!!!
My wife is from Bristol, UK, and her mini has the Union Jack on the roof, and on the mirrors. Overall, the car is silver with a black roof. Gets alot of looks here in the States!

I still have hopes that the project will turn out good, I just need to remind myself the goal is to always enjoy the process, improve when and where I can, but understand that if I only accept perfection, I will be detracting from the reason I build to be

I've been up my neck in Thunderbolt stuff and havent had much chance to get anything done on this.
I still havent decided on the paint scheme, but I did have a go at masking/painting a union jack on the roof.

Nigel,
How about red with a Union FLAG (as a Union jack is only flown from a jack staff on a ship) on the roof, chrome wing mirrors and black grill and darkend windows
On the rest of it Nige its looking good.

It would be better if Nige finishes building the BMW first before he starts painting it
.
You must have a bit of space left on your desk for finishing this Nige

I saw a nice blue BMW,err mini,,,,the other day with a white roof and white stripes down the bonnet.
( No oven cleaner)
Looked quite nice
I am having a short break from my 1:24th P-47 for the next couple of days after the cockpit fell out( I dropped it), and I had to reinstall it piece by piece through the hole in the front of the fusalage.
( Not recommended

Ouch!!!!!!!!!!...one of those weeks, huh? Hey, a union flag is gonna be alot harder to paint than, say, invasion stripes...paint her anyway you feel..she'll look good.

I saw a glut of these in racing colours at the F1GP this past weekend - if I'd remembered your thread I should have taken photos
Only photo I got was of the missus standing next to a gunmetal cabriolet version...

Reminds me of that old kit based on the custom cars of the 60's called something like "The Rickshaw"!
At least its the newer version being chopped up!!!

Nigel, I think I may finally be able to help you decide on the paint scheme. Since you are doing an up-to-date mini, why not take that theme a little farther. Just think if the television show "Dukes of Hazzard" had been made today:

Done a bit
Bodys together. I havent glued the sides yet to make it easier for me to do some dryburshing etc first.
A dry fit of the newly painted body shell, and the recently stripped roof

Nice progress. Does this kit enable you to articulate the steering of the wheels or are they posed that way for the picture?

Theres a steering rack of sorts which allows you to move the front wheels.
Its not attached to the steering wheel though, just pivots the wheels. A nice touch I thought.
