Can anyone id this truck for me and tell me if there is a kit (or something fairly close) out there?
WARNING - the article is a little gross. It's about a whale that was on the back of a flatbed that "blew out" and soaked a few cars, etc. There's a show about it right now on National Geographic.
Really cool build though - before the blowout though

,
closest you'll get will be Aoshima's 1/32nd range -
http://www.aoshima-bk.co.jp/scripts/eng/shohin-eng.aspx?id=80
or if you want 1/35th, then you could convert the Trumpeter Japanese Tank Transporter tractor unit.
The truck in the photo looks to be a Mitsubishi Fuso.
There used to be 1/24th scale Japanese trucks - Hino dump truck and a few other variants - but can't recall who produced them, you see them show up occassionally on eBay.
HTH.
Edit: Just remembered who released the 1/24th scale - Mitsuwa.
