Hey Gang,
As everyone knows I've got the Pete 359 build rolling along, till now. Hit a bit for a road block if you would, (Damn, I hate using terms like that.)

Anyways, Looking for some fuel tanks that no one is using or spares if anyone has some. Scale: 1/25th. 4-120 gals. or larger.
AM is a bit pricey right now. Scratch is possible, but that's last resort at this point in the build. Would like to use the kit tanks for something else in this build.

Thx.

Make your own out of alumnum tubing or styrene tubing...any length ya want. Use flat strip stock for the bands and flat stock sheet for the ends - flat or semi rounded is your call there as well.
Evergreen doesn't have large tubing so I'd try plastruct...page 23 shows acrylic tubing in 1/4" to 3" dia.
You could do square tanks too.....sheet stock...

Hi Bob,
Thought about that, I'd like to "pactice" a bit on the kit tanks first before screwing up perfectly good stock. I've got an idea for the end caps on each tank that might take some perfecting when I go to scratch build the tanks. Thus the reason for the request.

Can't blame me for trying to save a buck or three. Thx.

Brian,

This may be out in left field, but have you thought of two 1/35 truck tanks (Italeri's 5-ton tanks come to mind) to make one tank? They're rounded rectangle and would be easy to join them. And, they'd probably be different from the norm. I believe you'd need four for you build?

Just a thought as an alternate. Or....airplane fuel tanks?

Hey Mike, Matt.

Mike, Funny you should bring that up. After I posted I remembered I had some P-51 drop tanks in 1/32nd, I'm going to have to dig around for them, but those might work too.

Matt, Did not know that, I'll have to look into that. Thx.
