I purchase this kit for $2.00 last night. It is a started kit with a bad gloss black paint job on the body, hood and front and back splash panels. I took forum advice and Have just sprayed it down with oven cleaner.
Outside temp is 46 degrees.

first coating of oven cleaner ineffective.

engine cleaner on t-shirt, paint peeled and started to leave.

hitting with oven cleaner again.

Oven cleaner on this project was a waste of time plus the fumes (uncle).

The solvent most effective was Autozone's Heavy engine degreaser, work fast.

John I know what you mean by that oven cleaner about taking you out because I got in a hurry and put my nose over the container before I closed it up for the night and it about took me out, but it is the only thing that I tried that works on getting the paint off I tried that simple green and no good and I had it totally under the full bottle of simple green and it never even touched the paint that I could see.

Then the only way the oven cleaner done any good is when I had enough to cover the whole body for the whole night which means the whole can and more some times which gets expensive but don't smell it or you will have worse then CRS
