Here's some other recent and old unfinished projects that need to be given attention;
My current try of an old 1960 chevy 2 ton-

...got the fenders and side boards but the grill is slowing me down alot.
Here's my '57 chevy 2 ton where the grill area has been widened but I need to tackle the fender sides-



Last of the 3 is my ford F-800 bigjob...all I got is one fender cut off to be widened-


...so many things wanted to build...so little time.

Ah, yes, the curse of modelers. I like the F8.

That's what I was thinking. I couldn't even begin to list all my started and stalled models. Some I accomplished what I wanted to do and then got bored with. Others had some insurmountable problem so they were set aside. And others simply were overwhelmed by other interesting ideas.

For instance my wife, being the observant person she is, saw a Hot Wheel GTO station wagon and thought of me. It's sharp and well proportioned. Yep, I do have a thing for vintage station wagons. Weird to some, but I've always like them whether they are sleepers or fully tricked out street machines. Anyhoo, she bought it for me and I promptly went to my stash and dug out the Revell GTO kit. I had to fit every urge to start hacking at the plastic though. But I did.

Hmmm...50's though. I kinda like the late 40's...now I gotta go look up the difference between the two! I do likey the flathead and the wheelsets though!!

And when did Ford switch from F-8 to F-800? Also, do you know when the F-8 was available?

Let me direct your attention sir to the Dencon site's donar kit..she's a 1950 F-1 1/2ton...that's used to recreate a 1950 F-8 2ton...my truck is a mid/late 40's F-800 2ton so I'm guessing that the '50 model year got a shorter name badge....?...anyone agree or disagree?

See, I thought the F-8 was late 1940s (post WWII) early 1950s, and the F-800 replaced it in the mid-1950s, but I could be wrong.

Ok, I think I figured this out. Ford introduced the F-Series in 1948, and the First Generation of the F-Series was called F-1, F-2. etc. from 1948-52. In 1953, Ford introduced the Second Generation of the F-Series, and with it the new designation F-100, F-200, etc. Ford introduced the F-150 in the middle of the Sixth Generation (1973-79) in 1975. The F-100 designation was eleminated in 1984 in the middle of the Seventh Generation (1980-86).

Hmmmmm{lol}...I spose if I'm going to direct anyone's attention to anything it should be mine! Why...why ...why did I list my truck as a "mid/late 40's" when the pic and writen description says she's a '55 !.....Duh bob!!! That's ok I guess as it just now dawned on me that I have no idea at all what chassis I'll be putting the '60 Chevy on since I'm nearly done with the grill which was the last part to do for me.......ah, yet another senior moment{I'm too young for this!}

-Thoughts{rather random at the moment}...I wish a dual drive system for the '60 - Can't use the GMC general nor pete since they have airbags in back{doesn't seem correct}...I have two heil autocar dump beds{no chassis' though-bummer}, a spare paystar dump kit and same said rex mixer version kit{that might be cool but different rims and tires}, a spare ford boxvan chassis, 4 mack R-685 chassis'{nope - wrong make for this build} and the spares box has been hit too much I guess since all I have that's close is a front astro passthru axle but no rear.
A single drive chassis could be done on any of the 3 spare ford C900 cab kits or the spare L700 though that's kinda slated for a distant boxcab build...well...finish up. For once in my life I have to say that I don't have enough stuff ....

Ok, rough but she's got a 1st coat of primer on her and my 1960 chevy 1 1/2 ton is nearly ready for a chassis...need to fill and smooth obviously but the rough shape of the grill is now done - getting close to where I've wanted to be for a long time on this one! She's not spot on, but close enough this time around.

I may have to settle for a ford C900 single drive chassis and rework the front spring location father forward...I'll deal with that after the cab is totally done.

So you know (and you might already) The Modelhaus offers a 1964 & a 1965 Chevrolet 2-ton cab conversion. Ok, so it's $52. Here's a pic:

Hey Joe...I got waaaaay too many irons in the fire at the moment I guess. I did clean up the grill area on it, but that's it till I nail down a chassis to put it on...guess I shoulda thought this alittle farther along than I did!

Jim...I've got that very one...it inspired the '60 build. As I recall MH said a good chassis for that was the italeri opel truck...figures...I only have one full kit of that.
