Hi Folks, I thought I saw a short feature on painting exhaust pipes somewhere around here. Can't seem to find it now. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks, Randy

Hi Bob OD, Fancy meeting you here

Working on the pipes for my EOD build and found a great little SBS on painting motorcycle exhaust .

Could have sworn it was on this site but now I can't find it! It showed a process of painting with AllClad Silver then using Tamiya clears, blue and orange along with Smoke to get some really cool results.

Not the end of the world but wanted to go thru it again.

Thanks, Randy

Well, I'm not sure where you saw that article, but the basics are easy. Smooth the pipes, prime, paint tamiya spray black, then do 3-4 light coats of Alclad II chrome - dry polish after the 2nd and 3rd coats. Let the pipes dry for roughly a week between coats.
Then spray tamiya blue and or green clears for the bluing effect around the bends of the pipe, right off of the head{s} where the heat is at it's worst{I've owned a few cycles in my time to know this}. Seal with clear and your set.
