More LoneStar test shots. This one is by Dave Metzner of Moebius Models. Apparently he painted it up just like the truck International let Moebius "crawl around on" to make the model.

When is this model going to be released, and does anyone have an idea on price? Working for an International dealer has me itching to build one.

Right now Moebius is shooting for a March or April release date. I believe the price is ~$70 US.

Art....last I heard was late March, or early April. I will be bringing them in at the shop, and providing that the price doesn't change between now and then, looking at $77.25 CDN.

Last I talked to Frank, he said they were on the water, that was about a week ago. He said then about 3 weeks, so probably the first week of may the suppliers should have them.

My boss ordered half a dozen in through the Navistar Dealer Parts Network ( I happen to work in an International Truck dealership ); and I have been tasked with building one for
the showroom display case.
From my first glance, it is an amazing kit. We have sure come a long way from the AMT truck kits of the 70ies/80ies, and a step above the Italeri kits.

There really is no comparison to the AMT kits of the 1970s. My LoneStar arrived Tuesday from Model Express, and I am looking forward to building it. I need to finish my APA Mack R685ST and my Kenworth W900 first.

Art, you work for Navistar? This is good news. The instruction booklet says to paint the engine block of the MaxxForce15 dark blue. Is this correct? From the 1:1 pictures I've seen of the MaxxForce they look black.

Engine is a metallic blue in colour - closest is Tamiya Metallic Blue - straight out of the jar.

Thanks. I'll see if I can pick up a jar of that at my LHS.

Jim:
The engine block is metallic blue; front cover and oil pan should be aluminum; the filters should be white, not black as indicated; rocker cover is flat black, not silver; and the rest of the colours it calls for are pretty much spot on.
Hope this helps.

Thanks. I'll make a note of that in my instruction booklet.
