Hi Folks,

First auto model for me since the 60's ( wow, that made me feel old!)

Found this on the net, no photo credit listed...

Mock up, cab will be a '37 Ford but of course it will have a Mopar drivetrain...

Going with some brass work...

That is all for now, all comments are welcome!

Randy

Absolutely AWESOME piece of work Randy. If it wasn't for the MOPAR rubbish I'd give you 10/10, but I'll have to drop it to a 3.5/10 now. Of course, you haven't dropped an oil-leaking, pinging, rattling, smoke-blowing Hemi in the front end yet, so you COULD save the day and drop in a nice little 454 Bowtie Bruiser !

Sorry mate, I just had to get in before the rest, I'll be watching this every step of the way !!

Cheers, D

Awesome piece of work Randy.

A Mopar drivetrain really surprices me, since the design of the Rat has Cheby written all over it.

Holy Smokes!
Just because you haven't built a model since the 60's, doesn't mean you're short of talent or know-how! I'm a styrene guy myself, but then I don't have the working steering and finite detail that you will. Those tiny bolts on the front axle and all are just great.
Not to join in the Ford/Chevy/Mopar feud, but I know by my 2007 Chrysler that after 100 years, those boys still can't get one to run in wet weather, not that your rat rod would either. Of course, I don't know-- would a rat be driven in all weather? not a show queen.
thanks for posting!

LOL.......I loved the build even before I saw that line...this is just the frosting on Damian's fudge{chevy-and I don't mean fudge in that nice a way}!
Randy, your skills with brass and plastic are top knotch, I certainly can't tell you were ever away from the car build table! Are you a jeweler by trade?
I like your choice of rims better than the actual pic's...two holes are nice, but they kinda look chunky there.
Wish somebody made scale "Desoto" hemi valve covers.....

That is absolutely outstanding. Don't think I have ever seen this amount of details on a model. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing the step-by-step shots especially, so we can see how you did some of this scratch building of the operational details
