Hi guys ! I have been posting to the Aeroscale section of this site for sometime now but my interest in modeling is not only limited to that genre.
In my long life of modeling since 1948 (I'm 70) I have been involved in most aspects of the modeling world. This internet world only came to me late in life so I may not be up to speed on that aspect.
Modeling was, in my day, pretty much a solitary hobby using snail mail and magazines to stay in contact with what others were doing.Imagine how I feel today ? Glad I lived long enough to see our community come together like it has.
In the last 10 years or so I have been doing 1/16th and 1/24 scale dioramas that incorporate a lot of different types of models and modeling skills, from kits to scratch.I hope that you guys get something out of my posts, so here we go..

Here is a classic old "T" that I built from a highly modified kit.

John, nice work on the old T and what I believe to be a mercedes 540{?}..what scale are those in?
I, like you, have no particular set modeling genre...I got burnt out on armor long ago{just how many tigers/shermans/panzers can one really build I guess} and started out in shiney stuff...and really liked it. Modeling outside your usual stuff also helps one's abilities to conquer and overcome as well as burnout.
Let's see some more of your handy work please!

Hi Bob ! I cheated on this one and used a 1/18th scale diecast in my 1/16th diorama. The figures are highly modified kits, the rest is scratch.

Hello, John!
What beautiful models !! I, like others, am looking for a break from armor and aircraft, and cars in the larger scales seem like a great alternative.
The classics are wonderful, but I am having a difficult time finding 1/16 and 1/18 in plastic. The Bburago kits in metal and plastic are great, but finding the kits is tough here in the US.
Do you have any suggestions for kits and building model classics?
Thanks for sharing your photos, and any guidance you can gice me.
Cheers,
Bill ([email protected])

Hi Bill ! Glad you like my stuff.! Take a look on the web under 1/16th scale or 120mm and see if anything interests you.
