I'm wanting this to be a beat up old huey being picked up by a restoration shop. The huey is the monogram 1/24 uh-1. The truck is made from 2 escalade pickups. I'm removing all of the escalade emblems and making it an extended Chevy Avalanche (same body style, I'm guessing with the escalade package you get nicer interior). I cut the 2 escalades in half and stuck the halves together to get the 6 door pickup.

Haven't started the trailer yet. It's just going to be a basic flat bed with straps and hooks for ratcheting the huey down.

The plan is to junk up the interior of the huey to make it look like maintenance crews have thrown old parts in there.







I need to add some straps to hold the huey down onto the trailer, truck and trailer need plates (and lights), also I need to wire and add chains between the truck bumper and trailer.

Let me know if you see anything else that should be added or touched up. Took these with my phone so they're a little blurry.









I've picked up some thin ribbon that I'm going to turn into some ratchet straps. I don't think that the ratchets are going to be difficult, but I'm having some trouble bending some wire into decent looking hooks.

I've also decaled the huey. I'll post some pics of that later.

Does the trailer have a frame underneath? It's pretty plain-- fenders may help there.
Otherwise, that's really cool. You did fantastic work on the 6-door Avalanche!

It does have a frame, but I used a thinner square stock for it. Yep, I do need fenders to get street legal. Otherwise the styrene police will give me a ticket! haha

Thanks about the escalade. It wasn't really too difficult. The doors are pretty much vertical, so I just stuck the cab together. The bed was a little aggravating though. I stretched it too since the stock bed looked way to short. The rails and the "flares" that come off the cab weren't fun though.

I may build me a hummer limo later based on what I picked up with the Avalanche.

Cool idea. You should hit up some of the Armorama and Aeroscale forums for tips on making that Huey look truely faded and junked.
