Hey folks,
This is my first rig. I like these This is the Revell Peterbilt 359. I've heard that the tires are too narrow, but after the rims spread them out a little they looked ok to me.
It's OOB (just wanted to see how I'd like it before going crazy). I painted it with a tamiya acrylic. I got a pretty uneven/worn look out of it. I like that it has a very used look to it. This was partially an experiment to see how acrylics worked. I don't think I'll use them for a "newer" truck or car.
Anyway, let me know what you think, good or bad.
John

Looks pretty good. The Revell USA Snap Peterbilt is a good kit with lots of kit-bashing potential. And that Caterpiller 3406 can be used just about anywhere.
You did a really nice job, and I agree that the Tamiya spray cans are tough to work with.

Thanks. Next up in the truck category is one of the Revell W900's with a stretched sleeper.
If I add 3 or 4 inches to the sleeper will I still be legal? Isn't that about 6 to 8 feet in this scale?

Legal? Well, that depends on thye year. The Revell of Germany Peterbilt 359 is about a 1980, so a long wheelbase is ok. Straight out of the box, the kit is a Peterbilt 359-119 with a 63" flat-top sleeper & a 240" wheelbase. Adding 3" would give you a 312" wheelbase, while 4" will give you a 336" wheelbase. That's a little long for my tastes, but some people them that long Project 350.
I'm planning on stretching the frame on my Revell of Germany kit as well because I want to make it a 359-127 with the 63" standup Unilite sleeper.
