Just completed Italeri's "Coal Powered Truck". Did it steampunk colours for the missus who's into that genre.
Just a fun build to get back into the swing of things after a break of 12months or more but any comments welcomed.

The wood looks realistic. How did you do it?

I've seen several pieces done in "steampunk" style and I like it! But what is steampunk? A style? An era? A movement? I'm intrigued to find out more!

@JimB, thanks
@KoSprueOne, to do wood tones I take a mid brown and base coat what I want to do, then heavily dry brush a light brown (Tamiya deck tan by preference), followed by a light dry brush of a reddish brown and then a VERY light dry brush of another mid brown (so 4 different browns all up) then one or two pin washes for shadows in crevices.
@Hunter, think movies like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Jules Verne books, Laputa castle in the sky. Kind of a cross between Victorian era style with sci-fi tech often powered by steam. think of a Steam powered plane for example. Wood and copper tones abound. Wiki can give you more.
