I made up a quick base for the Interceptor this morning.

I made it with a picture frame, a piece of a roof shingle for the asphalt roadway, some grout and my sand/kitty litter mixture for the ground and some rope fibers for the clumps of dead grass. Just for something extra I put in the remains of a rear axle and differential from a previous violent incident for someone. I was going to add a few more car parts like an engine fan but I thought it might look too busy. So I went with the differential only. However....maybe an empty Dinki-Di dog food can alongside the road might be nice. I lightly painted the white stripes to show that it is a highway but also to show some age on the paint. I just kind of made up the base as I went and only spent about an hour on it. Anyway I wanted to show where the Interceptor will be sitting when I am finished weathering it up.

Thanks,
Randy

Very nice work Harv

Thank you Russell. I appreciate the kind comment. I thought the base turned out pretty good for something I just threw together. I hope to have some final pictures to post in the next day or two with the weathered Interceptor sitting on it.

Thanks,
Randy

Well.......calling the entire project complete. I finished dirtying up the Interceptor a little bit ago and wanted to post the pictures. Sorry about the quality of the photos. Had to rely on Man Cave lighting again as it is dark, cloudy and raining outside.....so no natural light. Anyway.....here it is.

Thank you again everyone for everything.

Thank you Fred. I appreciate the kind comments. Glad you like the roof shingle for a base. It turned out pretty cool and has met with nothing but positive comments so far. Glad one of my ideas worked out so good.

Thanks again for getting this kit for me to review. I enjoyed building it.

Thanks,
Randy

Randy, that is brilliant work!

Love the base for it too, really ties it in well.

My build has stalled, been distracted by gathering stuff for a Moebius {rostar build, as well as starting 2 Aoshima AE-86 kits.

Thank you very much Matt. I really appreciate the kind words and feedback. I am glad everyone likes my base. For something I just basically threw together it has met with lots of positive feedback.

Thanks,
Randy

PS. Glad you can use those spare parts. I will get them on the way to you this next week. The radio has a sloppy paint job on it but everything else is good. All of the windshield wiper parts are in a small plastic bag so they won't get lost. Don't worry about shipping or a trade or anything as they are my gift to you. I love helping out my fellow modelers.

Thanks again,
Randy

You're welcome. I am working on writing up a separate review for the kit as well that I hope to have submitted soon.

Thanks again,
