I recently dug through my older kits that I got when I was a younger and most of the kits are half finished, I began to break some of the parts off into (the glue was really weak) i'm planning to repaint the model, and some of the chrome parts have paint on them, any good ideas for removing it ?

I don't want to remove the chrome, I wand to remove the excess paint that was on the chrome parts, without damaging the chrome

Tommy,
Well, that's something different. You might have to bite the bullet and remove everything then repaint the piece in question if the paints been on for a few years.
However, after saying that, there is a product out there that might do the trick, it's made by a company "Polly S" and the name is "Easy Lift Off" or "ELO"
This removes paint from "unwanted" areas.
Try that first, then sanding/repaint would be last option.
HTH.
See ya in the funnies...................

Tommy, I would be more apt to just remove everything, then repaint using Alclad. I think you will like the results.
