Hi, guys. Season's Greetings!

I started the work on Hasegawa Mini Cooper S Ray Package, after I finished Devil's Chariot (that's right, my models have names or nicknames...)

First, a taste of color... From the official colors I have chosen pepper red - hence "Pepperette"

The first step is... the body... first coat of home brewed primer... nice and fine. No obvious irregularities on the model's surface:

Hopefully with the Christmas time and all that, I can find more time for it. I will keep you updated

Warm regards

Coming along fine there Gabriel.

Thanks, Jesper. I run already in trouble with painting the dashboard, but I'll sort it out (sigh!). Warm Regards.

I agree with Jesper. Your little mini is looking great Gabriel.

A suggestion on your dash: You can find pictures on the internet of the actual gauges and scale them down on your printer. Print them out, cut them out and place them where you want them in the dash with a tiny bit of white glue, then place a drop of clear Future polish over it. I've done this with car and airplane models with good success. The Future will dry and look just like glass.

Thanks, Hermon.
I used a very similar technique... except i don't use PVA glue; instead, I use straight Future as glue and as varnish. So I do for clear parts and I never had a problem...
Here, on "Pepperette" dashboard case I wanted the rims on the small air ventilators finished in aluminum color and I choose the wrong paint - the pigment too granulated... The same it happened with the sides of the dashboard... not big deal, but annoying.
Thank you very much for following, gents.
Warm regards.

Hi, guys.
I had some four hours for modelling over this weekend. There is my progress:

I had to strip the paint on the dashboard; as said earlier, the steel color used was to grainy. Anyhow, after a dry fit I decided to change the color scheme as well. Unfortunately, i ran out of time.

Then I applied some light wash over the bottom plate. Still not finished, semigloss coat to follow:

I finished detailing the steering wheel:

I painted some details and installed the pedals and gear shift: (I still missed couple of details, darn!)

I finished the wheels and got a glimpse of the body color upon bright coat... quite happy with it:

Dry fit check - OK (I know, the seats need another layer of red... same with the inside of the doors):

Other than that, i polished the body, preparing the final coat... couple of specks but nothing to worry.

Now, in my review I was bragging about the skirts molded together with the body, making the paint job difficult. I have a better one yet: under the windows there is a chrome insert running all around the car... I wonder which is the best option: bare metal foil or masking and painting?

Thank you for following up.

Hello, guys, and all the best for the new year!

And, because it was week-end, there is some progress:

1. Finished detailing the interior and welded doors in place, together with the dashboard:

2. Finished painting and installing all underside components:

3. Got stuck: lack of critical supplies... received order confirmation today... another 10 days or so waiting

Hi, Guys.
Time for new update. Some trimming and decals. The decals somewhat thick and difficult to apply over compound surfaces. More updates to follow soon.

Thanks for following up.

Thank you, Jesper.

I scouted aplenty before choosing and I found red pepper as being the most expressive color for the model. Also red and black interior available in official package.

Thank you for the comment.
