Hi all.
Working on the Ferrari 126 C2 really got me going. The big housemoving from The Netherlands to Thailand forced me to start all over.
Back to basics. Where is the shop providing me with glue & paint.
Online shopping, ok that will cost a lot of money, due to taxes over here.
But I found my way.
So, together with the Ferrari 126 C2, Ayrton Senna's Lotus TYPE 97T is on my workbench.
Model Factory Hiro 1/12 scale Multi Media Kit.
This is a dream come true when it comes to modelling a Formula 1 car.
One can understand the collectors item issue. Just watching the box and contents is a pleasure.
Materials used to model this excellent car are white metal, resin, aluminium, brass and 3 big sheets with PE. I must admit that the white metal was not my favourite building material. Building trains in H0 scale from white metal was sometimes a nightmare come true.
But MFH makes the difference. Outstanding detail and very nice moulding.
Cleaning up the parts is very easy.
Resin that comes with the kit is unbelievable. Crisp and almost no cleaning up is needed. Aluminium turned parts, Good Year tires and rest of the parts are just top quality.
Ok! Just clean a part of the workbench, get your tools and start modelling.
Where do you want to start? Right, the engine.
Found the references on internet, I just might order the book from Joe Honda for even more reference pictures, but for now I start to understand the construction of the Turbo charged Renault beast of an engine.

Basics in F1 cars. Engine and monocoque.
This is a Sunday project. Saturdays are for the Ferrari.
Hope you all enjoy the pictures.
Next coming year(s) there will be lots of updates.
