Thought I'd start a separate build for my 50's GB
Must admit I'd forgotten about this GB , however after a quick flick through my plans I've settled on the C3A.
The 50's wasn't just about "chrome and fins" it was also the emergence of the Microcar revolution .
A couple of hours on the interweb and I had a Parts Manual and more than enough photos to hopefully do this auto some justice:

and here's the little tike :

Nothing more Soviet than a cruise around Red Square with the rag-top down (in winter):

The Build:
at 24th a set of Trumpeter 1/35th UAZ-469 tyres are an almost perfect size. The rims will need some modifications. However wheels are more or less sorted.

The body will be vac-formed in my usual manner. The basic shape has been cut and is currently glued and clamped.

Proper progress photos will follow when my camera comes back (on loan).
Cheers for looking in.

Sure is an interesting looking car. Probably not very safe though. Cheaply built, very Soviet.

"Hooray For Noddy !!!!!"

I have to say I am glad our work chose Smart Cars instead of something like this for their fleet of pool cars !!!!!!! ALTHOUGH SMART CAR IS STILL A CRAP CAR !!!!!!!

Looking forward to seeing how this scratch build comes together !!!!

Cheers guy's.
Jim - Function over form.
Plus when these things were rattling on the 'roads' there were very few vehicles in comparison to today's traffic woes.
Nige - Noddy was the first thing that popped into mind when I first saw this .
Cheers for the vid link, missed that one. Nicely shows how basic these things are. I think the speedo was wishful thinking (120kph).
