Recently I finished the ICM Ford Model T 1914 Firetruck. I would not call it a "Master Piece", but well done. It's my target to paint the 1:24 car models with the same or similar technic as I'm using for the military models. To give the model some light and shadow and a touch of weathering to show daily usage. With the help of the axe and the helmets from the ICM "American Fireman" kit gives the model some more "live". The body color of the model is Tamiya XF-7 Red.

The vinyl tires of the ICM 1:24 Ford T models are the worst model parts I have ever seen. But someday I realized that if I can paint the vinyl track of a tank model, why not to paint this ugly vinyl tires.

I first painted the tires with a layer of Revell EMAIL Color Gloss White 04 to build a hard layer of color around the tires.

Then a layer of Tamiya XF-2 Flat White with a few drops of XF-52 Flat Earth to turn it in to an ivory tone.

Then a layer of X22 Clear, added all those shadow and weathering effects and covered it with a layer of XF-86 Flat Clear.

This works also for black tires, just use black paint instead.

Both models are very well done. I do like how you used a military style paint application and flat Tamiya paint to simulate oxidized paint finish.
