Will Power just won the indy 500 @ 37 years of age for team Penske. This was the 17th win for the Captain at the brickyard.

Very cool. Too bad about Danica, though.

Now we just need some decent modern Indy car models!

Jim,
I really felt bad for her when she crashed out due to the rear coming loose. She just about always has a good finish, but not so this time.

I'd love some modern injected molded Indy cars. I've still got in my small car stash a few AMT 1/24 scale Indy car kits and Indy Cal decals for them.

How are the AMT Indy Cars kits? They look like the cars from the 1980s. I really like the look of the Revell Indy Cars, but I have been unable to find any locally.

Jim,
The AMT kits are 1/25 scale, and are indeed Lola's and March's from the 1980s. I only have two kits both Lola T8880s. the front suspension has to be cut off the body or you can't remove the joint seam. then the fun is how to put it back on. The engine/transaxle/rear suspension is ok but not great by today's standards. Michael at Indy Cal has resin upgrade parts.

I bought them both on ebay, and will get a few more.

The Revell kits are 1/24 scale and the details from what I remember are somewhat softer.
